6. Goldust & Booker T
WWE has a long history of taking two erstwhile performs who aren't doing anything noteworthy as singles competitors and tossing them together to see if some sparks will fly. They don't strike gold often with this formula, but every once in a while they hit the mother lode, as they did when they decided to pair the five-time WCW Champion, Booker T, with the 15-time Creeper Of The Year, Goldust.
On paper, this is about as random of a tag team as you'll ever see. Nothing about their personalities, or their gimmicks, or their movesets, or... you get the idea, right? It was quite the stroke of luck that the future King Booker and the consistently bizarre Goldust meshed so well.
Their backstage antics were one of the primary reasons to tune into Raw each week, because you wanted to see how exasperated Goldust could make his new partner, and exactly what wig/costume combination he'd be wearing while he did it.
Booker T was basically the vessel through which the audience could experience their own confusion and, well, let's called it "freaked-out-ness", over Goldust's bizarre hijinks.
