10 Future AEW World Champions
9. Kenny Omega
Reputedly the best in the world but still new to most wrestling fans not up to speed with New Japan Pro Wrestling, Kenny Omega arrived in AEW with a lot to prove.
He fell to Chris Jericho at Double Or Nothing and his feud with Jon Moxley seemed to trigger a kayfabe crisis of confidence. In reality, Kenny was very deliberately kept out of the main event singles scene for the fledgling promotion’s first year. Omega remains one of, if not the, very best in the world.
His exquisite tag team run with “Hangman” Adam Page can’t last forever. For all the talent on AEW’s roster, Omega still stands out and it can’t be too long now until he gets his time at the very top of AEW’s tree.
