10 Future WWE Champions Currently On NXT
1. Adam Cole
Adam Cole became WWE's only dual title holder at TakeOver: New Orleans earlier this month, winning the vacant NXT North American Championship in the opener before helping The Undisputed Era retain the tag straps later the same night.
The 28-year-old is held in such high esteem by developmental heads that he's already been cast in the role of a stable leader, as well as given a brief cameo in the Royal Rumble, where he was eliminated by Rey Mysterio after an impressive showing.
As if all of that weren't enough of an omen for future success on the main roster, he's also worn the ROH World Championship some three times - that's more than anyone in the promotion's history.
When you consider that some of the other names to hold Ring of Honor's biggest prize include CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins, it seems virtually inevitable that Cole will go on to enjoy a main event run on Raw or SmackDown - potentially as early as 2019.
