10 Gems That Saved Rotten Wrestling PPVs

1. Razor Ramon Vs. Shawn Michaels (WWF SummerSlam 1995)

During the intro to this article, the dreaded King Of The Ring 1995 show was mentioned. That was the lead-in to that year's SummerSlam, providing one half of what was supposed to be a colossal main event. Winning the tournament against everyone's wishes, Mabel would face Diesel for the WWF Heavyweight Title come SummerSlam.

The match was predictably woeful, and it was joined by much mediocrity on the undercard. Bouts like Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. Bob Holly, Barry Horowitz vs. Skip and Bret Hart vs. Isaac Yankem D.D.S were hardly inspiring, but one match was on hand to give fans something to cheer about.

Back at WrestleMania X, Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon put on a clinic in a Ladder Match. Seeking something a little faster-paced to help them top that effort, they used the ladder as more of a weapon at SummerSlam '95 than they had done previously.

It worked, the match was a stunner, arguably topping the 'Mania classic. That's up for debate, but it's inarguable that Michaels vs. Ramon was the only thing worth seeking out at SummerSlam.
