10 Genius Ways Wrestlers Survived WWE Humiliations

8. William Regal Survives Via Comedy

Speaking of comedy genius, it's William Regal.

The bumbling Englishman persona he played on WWF/WWE TV was sensational at times. Who could ever forget his facials when Chris Jericho took a pee in his tea? Or how much chemistry the guy had with Tajiri on-screen? All of that was threatened by the monotony of Vinnie Mac's 'Kiss My Ass Club'.

This had been a humiliating 'final boss' moment for many, but Regal survived it by doubling down on the more comedic aspects of his character. Put it this way: William didn't mind dressing up for laughs or getting egg on his face at every turn, so why would he be all that mortified about having to pucker up?

Regal was able to distract fans from the 'Kiss My Ass' bit by leaning in on the ridiculousness of a character who was equal parts buffoonish and a total suck-up. Then, when it fit, William was able to showcase the technical wrestling side of his act too.
