10 Genuinely Extreme WWE Moments From Before The PG Era
2. Edge Spears Mick Foley Through A Flaming Table
It just kept getting worse for Mrs. Foleys baby boy. In 2006, Edge lost the WWE Championship to John Cena and blamed Mick Foley for his loss. Behind the scenes, Edge felt he should have been in the main event of Wrestlemania 22 against John Cena. How do I know this? Edge said so in his documentary. Since he was dropped out of the main event in favor of HHH, Edge was determined to steal the show. Along with Foley, who felt he never had a solid Wrestlemania moment, Edge would wrestle in perhaps the greatest hardcore match ever, in the best match of the night. All the Foley staples are here. Thumbtacks, Barbie, chairs, you name it and they used it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2rkQ12G5DU The match reached its climax when Lita lit set a table on fire, which was conveniently placed next to the ring. Edge charged through Foley who stood on the apron like a Spanish bullfighter, only he didnt think to get out of the way. The camera crew cut immediately to catch Edge connecting as both men literally went down in flames. 3 seconds later Edge was victorious and further added to his extreme moments. No one is going through a flaming table at Extreme Rules 2014, or any other time so just pull up WWE Network and enjoy a classic moment.
