10 Genuinely Extreme WWE Moments From Before The PG Era

1. The Undertaker vs Mankind - Hell In A Cell

This is the most extreme match in the history of professional wrestling. The Undertaker and Mankind began the match on top of the cell. From that point nothing should have shocked us, but little did we know this night would live in infamy. The Undertaker savagely tossed Mankind from the top of the cell through a table to his perceived doom. Jim Ross began reeling off legendary call after legendary call that would one day be dubbed on any amazing sporting moment. People thought he was dead. Surely he couldn€™t keep fighting? Could he? Well it wouldn€™t be Michael Francis Foley if he allowed himself to quit. In no time, he was back on top of the cell doing battle with The Deadman until something happened that wasn€™t planned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P35Y_3fLht0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U09oXyiAkOc Foley took a choke slam on the fence, and he fell to the ring in an instant. Then a steel chair followed him down, and lodged teeth into his nose. Terry Funk instantly got in the ring to check on his friend, as Jim Ross legitimately called for the match to be stopped. Wrestling had truly gone too far. In the years since Undertaker vs Mankind, the structure has been altered to discourage such stunts. (It€™s about 5 feet taller) The steel looks more dynamic, but it isn€™t the extreme cell that gave us all an unreal moment. In the PG era, these extremes are either completely avoided or done in a toned down manner. While the barbaric nature may appeal to some fans, in reality it€™s better for WWE long term to not put the damage that they once did on their performers bodies. So when Sunday comes, load up this list, and go back to a time where WWE was genuinely EXTREME!! What other genuinely extreme moments were there?? Let Us Know Now!
