10 Gimmick Changes That Saved A Wrestler's Career

9. Husky Harris To Bray Wyatt

With a family tree that includes Mike Rotunda, Blackjack Mulligan, and Barry Windham, it's fair to say that wrestling is in Bray Wyatt's blood. However, it hasn't all been plain sailing for 'The New Face of Fear'.

After a year in FCW, the would-be Wyatt made his mainstream debut on the second season of NXT as Husky Harris. Sadly, the original NXT format was a doomed concept and one that did very little to help any of it's participants. His subsequent promotion to the main roster saw him naturally join The Nexus stable of former NXT "rookies".

As a background player in the renegade group of newcomers, Harris became a Raw regular; however, CM Punk's introduction to the group saw The Nexus soon fizzle out. After being written off TV as part of the Punk/Orton feud heading into WrestleMania XXVI, the group quietly disbanded and Husky Harris was never seen on WWE TV again.

Demoted back to FCW, Harris became Bray Wyatt and continued his evolution into the new NXT format of today. Forming The Wyatt Family with Luke Harper and Eric Rowan, Bray soon made it back to the main roster and reached the pinnacle of his wrestling career when he won the WWE Championship for the first time in February 2017.
