What fans have recently witnessed happen to an apparent Modern Day Wrestling God was just plain sad, wasn't it?
Clearly attempting to reignite a character that has been struggling to really connect in any way, shape, or form for an age now, the pairing of Baron Corbin with former WWE Champion JBL seemed like a guaranteed way to conjure up some legitimate heat at a glance.
But it soon became apparent that the WWE Hall of Famer's bid to make Corbin the second coming of the Wrestling God was doing both men little favours. And JBL's eventual damning burial of the former Mr. Money in the Bank recently effectively killed both the gimmick and what remained of Corbin's credibility.
Instead of this paving the way for the end of the long-time WWE talent, though, there is a world where Corbin's misery could be used to potentially set up a second crack at a former character that many felt was killed way too soon.
As the down on his luck Sad Corbin seen in the summer of 2021, the star finally became a weekly highlight on WWE programming, with his desperate mission to turn his life around involving the performer trying to hijack contract signings and going all-in on an increasingly scruffy new look.
