10 Gimmicks That WWE Dropped Without Explanation

8. Headshrinker Fatu

Above, you can see former 'Wild Samoan' Afa sandwiched in between his "savage" islander duo of Samu and Fatu. Together, they were The Headshrinkers, and they were more likely to head butt your teeth down your throat than visit schools and warn against gang behaviour or drug use.

In 1995 though, that's exactly what previously-illiterate Fatu did. He ditched the traditional Samoan garb, learned to speak fluent English (seemingly overnight), dressed up in garish colours and lectured on the evils of recreational drugs. His 'Make A Difference' gimmick didn't last long.

The switch was hardly handled with any elegance either. Fatu literally went from teaming with Samu replacement Sione in the summer to prancing around yakking on about cocaine. The WWF scrapped this a few months later and turned him into a masked monster with no tongue.
