10 Gimmicks That WWE Dropped Without Explanation

9. Friar Ferguson

Mike Shaw held a dubious boast D-Von could not - he p*ssed the Catholic Church of New York off so much that they complained to the WWF about his 'Mad Monk' gimmick in 1993. Unwilling to fight against the man upstairs, Vince McMahon elected to drop the Friar Ferguson character.

Not to worry, because Bruce Prichard had something much worse in mind.

Slovenly dirtbag Bastion Booger was born that June, just in time for the big man to squeeze into summery outfits that'd turn heads on the beach. Sort of. If dingy singlets that were deliberately too small for his bulbous frame could be considered "summery" or fitting for the seaside.

McMahon and pals didn't even try to link Booger with Ferguson. That would've been a hassle, so they simply moved on as if the monk had never graced Monday Night Raw with his oddly-chirpy facial expressions or terrible squash matches.
