10 Gimmicks That WWE Dropped Without Explanation

4. 'Stalker' DDP

To be fair, this is the same company who thought DDP could go from stalking someone's wife to playing motivational speaker and nobody would notice.

In 2001, Page was injured during a tag match with Kanyon against The Undertaker and Kane at SummerSlam. When he returned in late-October, the WWF had forgotten all about his criminal activities or sins against one of the biggest names in its history. DDP's smile was just too charming, damn it.

Weirdly (and in true Men In Black-ish bullsh*t fashion), Page went from kidding on to ogle 'Taker's actual wife from afar to speaking about inspiring others. Throughout it all, he flashed his pearly whites and turned frowns upside down wherever possible. Nothing to see here, folks! A stalker? DDP?! Nooooo.

Somehow, this led to a run as European Champion and feud with on/off tag partner Christian. Did nobody in creative stop to suggest that it might be wise to tie up loose ends and have Page express regret for being a creepy git beforehand?
