Okay, forget that the original Peaky Blinders weren’t quite as cool as the ones portrayed on TV, forget that they were a flash in the pan gang that soon fell apart in a wave of gambling and horse racing, that they couldn’t survive when faced with bigger, stronger gangs. The Peaky boys have dominated the TV war, inspiring a style renaissance and barbershops all across the world.

Tommy Shelby is the anti-hero of it all, a troubled man with an undeniable magnetism and laser-sharp ambition. Underneath it all is a strong heart, full of love and care for those closest to him, but a heart that has been tainted by everything he has seen and everything that he feels he must do.

British Strong Style flirted with the Peaky Blinders aesthetic when they got together a few years back, but that was pretty much where the similarities ended. Dunne, Seven and Bate were simply blokes from the West Midlands with that sort of fashion sense. The depth of Shelby should be utilised on a bigger stage, bringing in the unrelenting violence of survival allied to an unwavering ambition and human magnetism. Come to think of it, this one might be better suited to Timothy Thatcher.
