10 Glaring Main Event Pushes WWE Missed Out On
These guys could have been top line staples had WWE let them...
The sheer number of wrestlers the WWF/WWE have used since the mid-80's is pretty staggering. So many talented men and women have passed through employment in the company, but only a select group can say they were main event regulars. Wrestling fans can (and often do) say what they want about Vince McMahon's methods, but he has paved the way for a lot of entertaining performers in the main event mix. It's been said that not everybody can be a top star. An organisation the sheer size and scale of WWE demands performers fill different roles on the card. For that very reason, there have been ultra-skilled wrestlers who haven't quite been staples on the marquee. Those performers are the ones focused on here. There's a set criteria for this list, each wrestler needs to have been in at least one televised main event. In addition, they need to have been stars of a certain caliber. Every single entry has been in the upper mid-card at least, for example. For mitigating reasons, they couldn't quite transition their varying levels of success into a sustained run as a main event level star. More often than not, this was something the WWF/WWE themselves are at fault for. The question must be asked, why weren't these guys given the chance to headline more often, or set loose as regular main-eventers?
