10 Goldberg WWE Matches You Completely Forgot About

At the beginning of this article the question was posed as to whether anyone could remember who Goldberg's first television opponent in WWE was. The surprising answer to that question is none other than Captain Charisma himself, Christian. Not only that but the match between the two took place inside a steel cage, the odds on Christian surviving the night growing longer and longer with every word the leader of the Peeps uttered.

Christian actually managed to put in a good showing here, helped no end by the constant use of a steel chair. The chair (referred to as the People's Chair) acts as an excuse, but the truth is that Christian controlling the first four minutes of this seven-minute match was a mistake to say the least. This really should have been a two-minute in and out destruction in order to establish Goldberg as a true force to be reckoned with.

Goldberg isn't likely to have many matches going forward, and his bouts against Kevin Owens and Brock Lesnar at Fastlane and WrestleMania 33 may well turn out to be his final matches in professional wrestling. It is unlikely that any of his return matches will be forgotten by fans any time soon, but the same can't be said for these 10 bouts from over a decade ago.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
