10 Good Matches From Wrestlers You Wouldn't Expect

Scotty 2 Hotty was a hugely popular figure during the Attitude Era thanks to his dancing antics and the fact he was less creepy than his tag team partner Brian 'Grand Master Sexay' Christopher. Most of the time his moonwalking and ludicrous finisher, the Worm, kept the t-shirts selling perfectly well, but when he had the chance, Scotty could show he was excellent in the ring.

He got an opportunity while Christopher was injured, in a singles run that included a match with technical grappler Dean Malenko at Backlash 2000 for the Light Heavyweight title.

Scotty matched Malenko's speed and technical prowess and added the hyperactive charisma that made the whole 2 Cool act, with the match following the Malenko's ruthless mangling of Scotty's knee. Scotty made the most of his dancing idiot side, too, driving the crowd crazy when he busted out the Worm, before the match ended with a spectacular top-rope counter.

While Scotty 2 Hotty will be remembered as the jackass who danced with Rikishi and always got battered at the Royal Rumble, matches like this one are a reminder that beneath the stupid hair was a quality wrestler.
