Dolph Ziggler could have been so much more than average. WWE have passed up countless opportunities to pull the trigger on his main event push, even as recently as the 2018 Royal Rumble when subjecting him to the most pointless return in recent memory.

The most notable of these missed open goals was after Ziggler cashed in his Money In The Bank contract on Alberto Del Rio to win the World Heavyweight Championship in 2013.

The deafening pop, which is up there with the loudest ovations in RAW history, was reflective of the post-WrestleMania crowd but also the growing respect and popularity that Ziggler had earned with his in-ring work in the years prior, even though he was a heel.

This would be a highlight of any wrestler's career, but it is head and shoulders above anything else on Ziggler’s showreel because of how poorly he has been mismanaged since, with WWE quickly reverting to treating him as they always saw him: average.
