5. Killer Elite Squad

Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Lance Archer are two former WWE cast-offs who came together in New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2012. They quickly became one of Japan’s premier monster tag teams as part of the Suzuki-gun stable, and currently find themselves on-loan at Pro Wrestling Noah after 2 IWGP Tag Team Championship reigns in their home promotion.

With K.E.S., the big question is whether or not they’d actually want to return. Smith found traction as part of the Hart Dynasty early in his WWE career, but soon drifted into the kind of directionless holding pattern that has consumed so many WWE midcarders over the years. Archer, meanwhile, accomplished very little throughout his year under WWE employ, and was rarely put forward as anything other than a basic powerhouse.

Both men have improved leaps and bounds since leaving WWE, particularly Smith, who has mastered the art of best utilizing his hefty 6’5”, 270lbs frame to portray himself as a beast in the ring. It’d take a big offer to pry them away from Japan, but the Killer Elite Squad would be worth every penny.
