10 Great Wrestlers And Their Terrible Impersonators
8. Mizdow - The Miz
Let me be very clear: Mizdow is not the terrible imposter in this case. That would be the Miz. During the latter stages of 2014, Damien Sandow was a lost soul. His Money In The Bank cash-in attempt had ended in disaster and he was consigned to the role of 'comedy act', dressing up as everyone from LeBron James to Davy Crockett to, god help us all, Magneto. However, salvation would come from the unlikeliest of places when Sandow was partnered with the Miz, and the two formed the team of Miz and Mizdow. Damien Mizdow's role was to ape the movements of Miz on the outside (and sometimes inside) of the ring, which was bizarrely, unfathomably funny. It was clowning at its best and, over time, the impersonator became infinitely more popular than the original. https://youtu.be/Eycw96fqSFM?t=105 Suddenly, Mizdow was the great wrestler and Miz was the terrible impersonator. The announcers even pointed out that Mizdow did The Miz's moves better than The Miz! The gimmick, which was utter garbage on paper, got Mizdow over in a huge way. Alas, that was not to last...
