10 Great Wrestling Feuds That Produced Disappointing Matches
9. Dean Ambrose Vs. Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho is an absolute revelation on the microphone, and has spent the past few years giving us some of his finest mic work yet. So when he was paired with Dean Ambrose in a feud, it was understandable that our expectations were high. Not only were both men great talkers, they were also incredibly entertaining to watch in the ring.
As expected, the rivalry proved to be highly entertaining with many humorous moments throughout, including the destruction of Jericho's light up jacket at the hands of Ambrose. However, no amount of hilarity or "stupid idiots!" could save their final showdown in the Ambrose Asylum from being a trainwreck. Though the crowd's disinterest certainly didn't help matters, the match went on far too long and the stipulation ended up coming off as corny instead of the intimidating structure it should have been. Aside from the thumbtack spot, there was nothing memorable about this one.
This was really unfortunate because the Ambrose Asylum seemed like such a rich concept for a match, but the execution let it down completely. As a result, the match proved to be a bloated, flat and all-round terrible conclusion to this great feud.
