10 Great Wrestling Feuds That Produced Disappointing Matches

2. Triple H Vs. Chris Jericho

Triple H's feud with Chris Jericho produced some of 2002's most entertaining moments. With The Game returning from a career-threatening injury to win the Royal Rumble and challenge Jericho for the WWE Undisputed Championship, there was already a lot of emotion involved in this storyline, but with Stephanie McMahon's allegiance with Jericho thrown into the equation as well, this was a huge mountain for the Cerebral Assassin to climb.

Despite the odds, Trips overcame Jericho in the main event of WrestleMania X8. While we were all happy that The Game had placed the exclamation point on his triumphant return, we just wish that exclamation point was a little more entertaining. The match was fairly decent, but after watching the epic confrontation between Hulk Hogan and The Rock earlier in the night, the crowd just didn't seem to care about this contest. Granted, it would have been helpful if Triple H and Jericho gave them something thrilling, but a mildly enjoyable battle that was slightly better than an average Raw or SmackDown main event was not going to send the audience into a frenzy.

Like previous matches on this list, this contest was by no means bad, it just wasn't exactly worthy of this great feud or of headlining the biggest event of the year.
