Heading into WrestleMania 32, it was hoped that Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose could make the most of the No Holds Barred stipulation to steal the show at that edition of the Showcase of the Immortals. Instead, we were left with a match that became a lacklustre afterthought.

In the build, the rivalry was ignited as Ambrose and Heyman exchanged the sorts of barbs that got people genuinely intrigued in a match that they initially didn’t really care for. All of a sudden, it was as if a lightbulb went off in the collective consciousness of the wrestling world at the prospect of the unhinged lunatic going up against the merciless wrecking ball.

The match teased fans with extreme action and Ambrose getting to let loose with some weapons, yet the bout soon fell into the standard Lesnar formula: The Beast dominates, the opponent makes a comeback, plentiful more German Suplexes follow, and Brock gets the 1-2-3.

Having now reverted back to his Jon Moxley moniker after leaving WWE in his dust, the former Dean Ambrose has not been shy in revealing just how disinterested Brock was about making this match anything special.
