The first half of 2000 belonged to Triple H. He was the WWF's top heel, and he had grown into a finely-tuned wrestling machine who finally clicked as a headliner. 'The Game' needed every ounce of that ability at SummerSlam, and so did The Rock. Both had to scramble when Kurt Angle, reeling from a Pedigree through the announce table, was taken to the back.

Cue bedlam? Not a chance.

Trips and Rocky managed to keep things together in Kurt's absence, and it was almost like the Olympian's very-real concussion had been planned (it hadn't been, of course). Instead of panicking and making a mess of the situation, the well-versed Rock and Hunter duo smoothly rolled on.

They worked the majority of the bout without Angle and didn't even know that Kurt would emerge for the planned finish. Bruce Prichard said on his 'Something To Wrestle With' episode that Angle would never have been allowed to go back out there with a serious head injury today.
