10 Great Wrestling Matches Made Up On The Fly

5. Ricochet vs. Will Ospreay (WCPW True Destiny)

This is one that's close to home for this writer.

At WCPW's True Destiny pay-per-view in February 2017, anticipation was off the charts for a New Japan rematch between Will Ospreay and Ricochet. Tickets had been sold to thousands on the strength of this one match alone, and everyone knew the pair were going to tear the house down with their acrobatics.

Then, disaster struck. Mere seconds into the match, Ospreay performed a handspring against the ropes and watched in horror as the top one gave way. Thankfully, he wasn't hurt, but it suddenly dawned on both men that they'd have to live up to their stunning first effort in Japan without the aid of ropes to run against or use at all.

To their immense credit, Ospreay and Ricochet rallied to produce an altogether different, yet somehow no-less-athletically incredible, match that earned a standing ovation from the live crowd. If you've never seen this one before, it's very much worth watching.
