With the sheer amount of in-ring action that has been churned out by wrestling promotions over the many decades this fine sport has been in existence, a few out-of-this-world performances from the folks putting their bodies on the line were always bound to get lost in the shuffle.

And with the reach of modern wrestling companies only growing by the year, meaning more and more contests are being produced and executed by high class performers, the harsh act of outstanding work being quickly forgotten about by the following week has become even more prevalent.

But thankfully, that abundance of content and the rich history of our beloved source of entertainment has now (mostly) been stored away on the ol' interweb. So, it's never been easier to recover some of those lost sensational pieces of wrasslin' goodness.

From forgotten legends proving they can still go at the highest of levels, to less remembered entries in some of the finest programmes we've had the honour of witnessing unfold, each of these squared-circle performances deserves to be celebrated for what they are: Marvellous matches worthy of being committed to memory!

10. Big Show - Vs Sheamus (Hell In A Cell 2012)

By the time Paul Wight was well into his second decade performing under the WWE banner, the former Giant had become something of a seven-foot punching bag for much of the fanbase. Though Big Show undoubtedly still held some value as a bona fide sight to behold, his matches rarely lit arenas on fire and were quickly overshadowed by whatever else was going on in the company at that time.

Yet, seemingly determined to prove he could still bring something to the table at the top of the card, Hell in a Cell 2012 provided Show with his chance to do just that. Matching the always physical Sheamus shot for shot and throwing himself around the ring like a man half his size, the man-mountain provided the World Heavyweight Champion with his toughest challenge to date.

So much so that, after evading a third Brogue Kick and catching the champ flush on the jaw with a sweetly-timed knockout punch, Show became the new World Champion for the second time to the sound of a shocked-to-their-core Phillips Arena. There's an argument to be made that Wight has still yet to top this jaw-dropping coronation.
