10 Great WWE Feuds That Never Got A One-On-One WrestleMania Match
5. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels
If it had been down to Triple H, he would have fought every single one of his greatest rivals at WrestleMania. And he would have won every time.
However, if he was ever going to get his wish, you'd have bet your bottom dollar it would have been against Shawn Michaels.
These long-time friends-turned-enemies-turned-friends, etc., held so much backstage pull across their careers, it's a minor miracle they never got their big 'Mania match.
Remarkably, the only time they ever faced off at the biggest show of the year was to get someone else over.
The Cerebral Assassin and HBK were joined by Chris Benoit in the closing match of WrestleMania XX. The Rabid Wolverine overcame all the odds to claim the World Heavyweight Championship and leave the former DX members empty-handed.
The only other time they would share the ring at WrestleMania was in 2012. Michaels served as the special guest referee for his buddy's Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker, even throwing a cheeky superkick the Deadman's way.
It's probably for the best these two didn't go one-on-one at WrestleMania. The match would have lasted five hours.
