10 Great WWE Feuds That Never Got A One-On-One WrestleMania Match

If WWE is to be believed, John Cena and Randy Orton are two of the greatest rivals in wrestling history.

In reality, they just fought each other a lot in 2009.

The two OVW standouts were aggressively shoved down audiences' throats throughout the late noughties. Astonishingly, they never had a singles match at WrestleMania, even though the stage was perfectly set for one in 2008.

Orton was WWE Champion, while Cena had won that year's Royal Rumble. Bafflingly, the future movie star chose to cash in his opportunity at No Way Out instead of WrestleMania XXIV.

Why? Your guess is as good as mine.

As Orton got himself disqualified, Cena was given the WrestleMania match anyway. However, they were joined by Elimination Chamber winner Triple H, making it a three-way.

Did WWE sabotage this singles match just to give Trips something to do? I'm saying nothing...

This would be the only time Cena and Orton would tangle at WrestleMania, which is remarkable restraint on WWE's part.

There's an alternative universe out there where these two fought each other at every WrestleMania for a decade.
