10 Great WWE Feuds That Never Got A PPV Match

1. Shane McMahon vs. The Rock

Seeing Shane McMahon leap like a salmon to smash The Rock with title belts or take his Rock Bottom finish was a regular occurrence between 1999-2001. The 'Boy Wonder' became a regular Rocky foe post-Corporation, but the pair would never actually meet one-on-one on pay-per-view.

Shane managed everyone from Big Show to Chris Benoit and Booker T against Rock, and yet he wouldn't step into the breach himself for what could've been a dazzling showpiece brawl. Apparently, Shane vs. Steve Blackman (for example) was a more pressing concern for everyone. Fair enough.

A bump machine like McMahon would've been great against The Rock, especially in 2000. They did work against one another in tags, like at KOTR 2000, but that was about it. Nobody would have complained had that year's Unforgiven event been headlined by Rocky vs. Shane instead of a thrown-together Fatal-4-Way, put it that way.

It wasn't to be.
