10 Great WWE Finishers Used By Less-Than-Great Wrestlers

9. Lex Luger - Running Forearm Smash

Okay, so not everyone will agree with this, but think about it in the context of what it is; Lex Luger used three major finishing moves in his career, one of which was the Torture Rack, the second was a Piledriver (because 1980s) and the third was a Running Forearm Smash. The third of those seems a little less exciting than the other two, right?

The third ticks so many wrestling boxes, however, we never truly appreciated it for what it was. In 1993 Luger was involved in a serious motorbike accident and had to have metal inserted into his forearm. If you've got metal in your arm, you would use it to knock people out, wouldn't you?

Luger could hit it from out of anywhere and it was an instant critical. The Narcissist may have been the dictionary description of 'meh' in the ring, but an instant kill out of nowhere finisher is not to be sniffed at.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
