9 Great WWE Storylines That Were Dropped Way Too Quickly

8. Cesaro Becomes A 'Paul Heyman Guy'

Just after winning the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXX, Cesaro was all set to become a made man in WWE, because the Swiss strong man was written to be aligned with the star-maker himself, former ECW head honcho Paul Heyman.

Looking at Heyman's track record in WWE, it wasn't hard to see why officials thought he was the guy to provide the missing pieces in Cesaro's puzzle. Namely, Paul was required to talk on behalf of his client, who had been tarred with the, 'he can't promo' brush by those in charge. Whether fair or not, few fans were unhappy when it became clear Paul Heyman would be the man's manager.

Perhaps shockingly, instead of providing the incredibly talented grappler with upward mobility, association with Heyman was brief and unfulfilling. Cesaro is the kind of guy who should excel with someone like Heyman talking for him, but the partnership was never really given the chance to develop. Instead, the overwhelming presence of Brock Lesnar loomed in the background, and once it was clear he was returning to television in time for SummerSlam, Cesaro was old news.
