9 Great WWE Storylines That Were Dropped Way Too Quickly

7. The Anonymous Raw GM

One of the most equally heralded and derided storylines in recent memory, the 'Anonymous General Manager Of Monday Night Raw' scenario was so badly handled that it's hard to have anything other than ill will towards the entire fiasco. This was a definite case of WWE's crack team of writers not actually having a solution when they kicked the thing off on television, which obviously is not the best way to go about things!

Part of the reason why people were so invested was because the whole idea felt relatively fresh - fans had been battered by relentless swarms of on-air 'authority figures', so the thought of someone pulling strings anonymously added intrigue. Sadly, that's about as far as WWE themselves got with the angle.

Instead of providing a colossal reveal that would shake the very core of the product, the whole ordeal merely fizzled out somewhat. Some lame 'closure' was added in the form of Hornswoggle, who was said to be the GM, but that was far from satisfying, and the story confusingly made a return after this anyway. Quite how this kind of amateur-hour nonsense was allowed to happen in WWE is baffling.
