This match - a face-off, albeit, between two of Canada's best ever workers - was always going to have trouble standing out from the crowd.

For one thing, it was penciled in as the opener at SummerSlam 2001, one of the event's best ever cards and notable for being the first major pay-per-view to see both the WWE and WCW titles defended on the same show.

It also involved the perennially overlooked Lance Storm, whose career has long been characterised as solid yet unspectacular. Solid, in that he guaranteed a seven out of 10 match every time he took to the ring, but unspectacular in that he never made it beyond the status of lower-mid-carder.

But if you were seeking an illustration of why he was so revered by the purists, if not always his employers, look no further than his feud with Edge.
