10 Great WWE Wrestlers Who Had Terrible First World Title Reigns

When the ‘Dead Man’ hit the scene in 1990, fans immediately realised The Undertaker was something different, something special. A year after his debut, he went on to become WWF Champion at the 1991 Survivor Series PPV, beating the ‘Immortal’ Hulk Hogan. ‘Taker’s win was… less than clean, as you’d expect whenever the 'Hulkster' agreed to lose, and the two had a rematch for the championship less than a week later.

The rematch was another absolute farce with Hogan throwing ashes into Undertaker’s eyes to set up for a winning Atomic Leg Drop. In the space of six days, The Undertaker went from being the undefeated WWF Champion to being another notch on Hulk's belt.

By and large, ‘Taker’s first run was pointless and killed his original undefeated streak. At the very least, he became the youngest world champion at the time by pinning Hogan, and there’s no real shame in losing the title to the most over-pushed superstar in the history of WWE. It’s a lot more dignified than how our No.1 wrestler on this list lost his first world championship, anyway.
