When looking at 'greatest ever', it's often more recent events that can come to mind.

In that regard, it's hard to not make reference to the stunning closing few minutes of the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite. That being, of course, the formation of a new heel faction headed up by that no-good, sh*t-sucking Maxwell Jacob Friedman.

The formation of the Inner Circle was impressive in its own right, with Chris Jericho, Santana, Ortiz, Sammy Guevara and the debuting Jake Hager forming an alliance at the close of the premiere episode of Dynamite. Yet the coming together of MJF and Co. was far more impactful, particularly in how the story of this formation played out.

Max being Max, he'd stirred the Inner Circle pot to a point where the audience was meant to believe that he was trying to oust Jericho as the group's leader. We even got Guevara-recorded evidence of MJF's underhand scheme... before the Inner Circle pulled the rug out from under Friedman and began to stalk him, all while Max begged off.

A quick 'lights out' was followed by absolute carnage, with bottles smashed, handcuffs fastened, a steel chair in play, and a Powerbomb from the stage awaiting the Inner Circle, as MJF was joined by Wardlow, FTR, Shawn Spears and the ever-scheming Tully Blanchard.

As of this writing, this faction has yet to receive a formal name - but boy, was their formation glorious!
