10 Greatest Feud-Ending Wrestling Matches Of All Time

7. Takeshi Morishima Vs. Bryan Danielson - Fight Without Honor (Final Battle 2008)

In one of his first matches with Ring of Honor, Takeshi Morishima would shock the world by defeating Homicide for the world title. Morishima used his crushing blows and daunting size to handle the champion like he didn't deserve to be in the same ring. In a subsequent title defense, Morishima would put such a beating on Bryan Danielson that he would legitimately detach the challenger's retina. The two would go on to have a string of matches, but through it all Danielson would never beat the champion. While both men would go their separate ways, Danielson still needed to prove that he could beat Morishima and was even willing to meet him in a no disqualification Fight Without Honor match. That stipulation's name would prove to be disturbingly appropriate for the war that these two would wage. From the moment that Danielson interrupted his own grand entrance for the chance to send Morishima over the railing, the world's greatest technical wrestler would abandon nearly every maneuver that got him to the top in favor of going blow for blow with the promotion's most dangerous human being. The story of Danielson's willingness to resort to any measure for a chance to topple the giant was written in blood that night. It took a series of violent chain assisted elbows to the head for him to accomplish just that, but Danielson's victory more than made up for the punishment he would endure en route to it. Ring of Honor made a name for themselves by providing some of the purest professional wrestling on the planet, but with this match they also proved to have an understanding of when it takes ultra-violence to finish a story.
