10 Greatest Feud-Ending Wrestling Matches Of All Time

5. Tommy Dreamer Vs. Raven (Wrestlepalooza 1997)

Lost among all of the blood and catfights is the fact that ECW gave us some of the best-booked feuds in wrestling history. Paul Heyman's ability to find the perfect competitors to pit against each other and slowly let their rivalry simmer before letting it come to an incredible boil showcased a level of wrestling intelligence that was uncharacteristic of a promotion that once had one of its performers strip in order to buy time during a power outage. The crown jewel of ECW rivalries, though, will always be Tommy Dreamer/Raven. Playing off of a story that these two had been rivals since their schoolboy days; these two men would engage in a number of violent battles that would always end with Raven finding a way to come out on top. After years of increasingly violent contests, fans began to wonder if the babyface Dreamer would ever get a chance to score a pinfall on Raven. Their answer would come at Wrestlepalooza '97, which so happened to be Raven's last night in the company. While that tidbit gave away the moment somewhat, nothing could diminish the night's incredible atmosphere. Fans packed the ECW arena and watched as Dreamer and Raven called back to every moment that made their feud so legendary. After a long battle, Dreamer finally beat Raven by planting him with a DDT so fierce that it's a miracle nothing sprouted from the very spot. Much like Flair/Steamboat III, Dreamer would have little time to celebrate as ECW took this opportunity to begin their next major angle when Jerry Lawler and crew attacked Dreamer after the match. Still, nothing could detract from the way ECW paid off their longest running angle with a singular triumphant moment.
