10 Greatest Final Two Competitors In The WWE Royal Rumble
5. Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair (2019)
2019’s Women’s Rumble threatened to be Daniel Bryan all over again. We knew precisely who we wanted to win, and made it apparent. It seemed WWE was going to ignore us – and then, they didn’t. An injured Lana was replaced by the nuclear Becky Lynch, and she only went on to win the whole thing.
To make things even better, the finale came down to Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair – the people’s champion vs. the corporate choice. As ever, the two women put their chemistry to exceptional use, toying with fan expectations that the booking might once again go somewhere stupid and unexpected and put the wrong person over.
They didn’t, though. They even gave Lynch an extra babyface pop by way of an attack at the hands of the ever-reviled Nia Jax, just one more set of odds for her to overcome before finally tossing Charlotte from the ring and electrifying the WWE universe.
It’s a good Rumble on the whole, but Lynch’s appearance is where it really comes to life, and the finale plays to the crowd in the best possible way.
