10 Greatest Hits Of WWE Hall Of Famer Jeff Jarrett

5. Handling The Big Johnson

Having left the company in protest of the early execution of his angle with The Roadie earlier that year, Jeff Jarrett's December 1995 return was shocking in itself before he made it particularly memorable with a brutal beatdown on Ahmed Johnson.

Now nearly 25 years old, Johnson and Jarrett's angle was one that wouldn't make it anywhere near WWE TV in 2018, in how it was almost entirely centred around 'Double J' smashing Ahmed's skull to bits.

Since debuting weeks before Jeff's return, 'The Pearl River Powerhouse' had been cannily positioned as WWE's next breakout star thanks to a slam on Yokozuna and successful Survivor Series stint alongside Shawn Michaels. Jarrett was to be little more than a distraction for the newcomer en route to Intercontinental Title glory.

Sustaining unfathomably painful head-shots was apparently the next badge of honour to be added to his rapidly expanding resumé. In the segment used to add heat to their Royal Rumble 1996 opener, Jarrett violently corked Ahmed first with the wooden frame of a platinum LP, then the glass itself and finally a reliable old steel chair.

He saved the guitar for the pay-per-view of course, dodging a loss to the unstoppable young star before walking out yet again just weeks later.
