Yes, as mentioned earlier, Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart was the true originator in terms of WWE ladder matches - but HBK and Razor Ramon truly popularised the match on the grandest stage of them all.
Although not quite as bone-crunching as some of the more modern ladder bouts, this was insanely groundbreaking at the time. Both men gave the sense of really pushing one another to the limit, with Razor playing the popular babyface to HBK's cocky heel.
Despite this, it was Michaels who executed the match's signature spot - diving from the ladder with a huge splash to the prone Ramon.
Razor did eventually retain his title (and the duplicate stubbornly brought to the match by former champion HBK), as the smaller man was toppled from the ladder - where he ingeniously managed to tangle his foot in the ropes, allowing his opponent a clear path to victory.
