10 Greatest LGBTQ Fighters In UFC History
4. Raquel Pennington
Raquel Pennington is a tough-as-nails Bantamweight who currently occupies the number six spot on the UFC's official rankings list.
The 31-year-old Colorado product was first introduced to mainstream audiences after appearing and competing on the Ultimate Fighter reality series. She has since gone on to become one of the best fighters in the UFC women's bantamweight division.
Pennington has monumental victories over former champ Jessica Andrade and former titleholder Miesha Tate —the latter of whom retired following their bout.
The scrappy contender also made history by taking place in the first UFC event headlined by two openly gay fighters, when she took on Amanda Nunes for the bantamweight title at UFC 244, back in May of 2018.
Though the number four spot may seem generous for a fighter with a 10-7 professional record, it's important to remember that four of her seven losses have come against either former (or reigning) UFC champions.
