10 Greatest Pure WWE Wrestlers

8. D’Lo Brown

Making his WWE presence felt primarily during the Attitude Era, D’Lo Brown was never going to be the most memorable figure. Due to his place on the roster and his relative subtlety compared to Austin, ‘Taker et al, Brown faded somewhat into the scenery, give or take the odd midcard belt chase.

But that was kind of exactly the point. D'Lo was the epitome of a good hand, someone who could be relied upon to work a quality match with anyone, vital during a time in which WWE’s TV commitments were only growing.

While Brown was never used hugely prominently in WWE, his talent and usefulness didn’t go unnoticed by other companies. Perhaps his best run came in the early days of NWA TNA where D’Lo was paired - first as ally, then rival - with the up and coming AJ Styles. The two put on some terrific matches that helped the company find its feet.

D’Lo came and went from WWE and TNA over the years, most recently having been working backstage in the latter. He’s tremendously well liked and respected by his peers, and even if he didn’t show off the technical superiority usually associated with the phrase, the man’s a wrestler’s wrestler.
