10 Greatest Spinebusters In Wrestling History

9. Stone Cold Steve Austin

One man who very much did progress beyond the mid-card though was Stone Cold Steve Austin, who of course went on to become arguably the most popular star in company history. While it was the Stone Cold Stunner with which the Rattlesnake created his most memorable of moments, the spinebuster was still a move that he often utilised to wear down his many opponents. While he sometimes opted for a spinning variant, it was his more nonchalant version that became more synonymous with Austin. Typically applied to an approaching opponent, he would hoist his foe onto one shoulder, before simply allowing them to fall back to the mat. It€™s a similar release to Kevin Nash€™s Powerbomb technique, and thus some may interpret it as a lazy move. But for Austin, the no-nonsense sloppiness was perfectly in keeping with the brawler gimmick that his character adopted. Sure, we€™ve seen smoother and more technical applications of the move, but few have been as suitable to the persona of its user. Besides that, as an integral part of one of the greatest stars in the business€™ arsenal, that enough to warrant a spot on this list. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWNyAyYr2oc
