10 Greatest Squash Matches In Wrestling History

5. Sid Vicious Vs. Lee Scott - NWA World Championship Wrestling (August 15th 1989)

Sid was almost custom-built for the squash match.

Unless he was in there with a Shawn Michaels, the warts materialised as time ticked by. Those minutes seemed to weirdly soften him. His sh*t looked leak, as incompetence took hold when his pre-game intensity receded. The magic trick - one that worked virtually everybody into giving him his own nickname when he came up - was to not expose his weaknesses as an all-rounder.

The magic trick was to throw him some puny puke and marvel as Sid caved his face in.

Enter Lee Scott, just one victim of early Sid's awesome wave of annihilation. Dressed in fantastically optimistic tights - God love the plucky jobber - he tried to blast Sid with a series of strikes, using up his entire reserve of best shots. Sid responded by counting them, unaffected to the point of doing simple mathematics. He then turned Scott inside out and upside down, inserting his skull down into his anus with a neck-snapper of a lariat, before launching what was left of him over the top rope.

Sid is the greatest. Sid can reduce very complex arguments down to himself. Is modern wrestling superior, or is it lacking in soul? More to the point: is f*cking Sid in it?

No?

Then get the f*ck out of here.
