10 Greatest Superstars In WWE SummerSlam History

7. Shawn Michaels

Shawn Michaels does not have the sparkling SummerSlam resume that he does at WrestleMania but that does not, by any means, mean he is not one of the best wrestlers to ever lace their boots at the annual summertime spectacular.

'The Heartbreak Kid's career at the event must be examined in two parts. There is the pre-back injury half and the post-back injury half. In both instances, he was a damn fine worker. In the latter, though, he recognized the elements needed to deliver a truly epic encounter and leaned on that even when his opponents may not have been able to keep up.

See the 2005 match with Hulk Hogan.

The 'Hulkster' was in no way Michaels' equal as a worker but the two of them delivered a strong, satisfying match thanks to Michaels' ability to tell a story and willingness to bump around the ring (overselling everything).

For every moment he left etched in the minds of fans, it was his unforgettable showing in 2002, against friend-turned-enemy Triple H, that serves as one of SummerSlam's greatest moments.

After four years away from the squared circle, Michaels summoned one of the most inspirational performances of all-time and beat 'The Cerebral Assassin'.

His 1995 Ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship against Razor Ramon was another all-timer.
