10 Greatest Worked Shoots In Wrestling History

3. Paul Heyman On Vince McMahon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrOwFrF01kM The peerless Paul Heyman delivers one of the most coruscating worked-shoot promos of all time, before Survivor Series in 2001. Entirely worked, and also entirely from the heart, this is scorching to watch. Heyman is completely matchless on the mic, and this is the greatest single piece of evidence as to that fact, greater even than his safer worked shoot before One Night Stand 2005 to a partisan crowd. This one wasn€™t before the ECW faithful though, and it really kicks into gear when Vince McMahon himself comes to the ring, apparently goaded by Heyman€™s snide mention of the WWF€™s failed attempt to start a football league, the XFL. Heyman€™s delivery is perfect, angry and passionate, and the content of the promo is just genius: a perfect mixture of storyline promotion, well known backstage dirt and actual professional wrestling history, melded into one long, beautiful rant, shouted directly into Vince€™s face. In ten minutes, the only time he runs out of steam is at the end, when after insulting Taz at ringside, the wrestler-turned-commentator takes his time getting into the ring to deliver the scripted end to the promo and choke Heyman out. Beautiful.
