9. La Parka/The Reaper

Although he had an intimidating name, La Parka (not to be confused with the La Parka who starred for WCW in the '90s) surely was one of the most entertaining luchadores of the last few decades. Another superstar that rose to legendary status in the late 1990s, this peculiar wrestler had a fighting style defined by extravagant dance moves that confused his opponent and delighted the spectators.

Jesús Alfonso Huerta, A.K.A. La Parka, began his professional career in 1995. He soon gained popularity thanks to the alliances he established with mainstays of the Lucha Libre food chain. Famous allies such as Blue Demon Jr., a legendary wrestler in his own right.

Parka's story has a sad ending with just a sprinkle of hope. Due to injuries sustained during a match in late 2019, Lovely Bones passed away in January of this year. However, his tragic demise has rekindled the conversation around the precarious conditions endured by most Mexican senior luchadores. No health insurance, no retirement fund. A tale for another time. For now, let's remember La Parka at his best:
