It goes without saying that Babyface wrestler vs. Behind the scenes authority figure can make for some of the best angles in the business. There are so many examples of superstars who made their career fighting the man - Stone Cold, CM Punk, Becky Lynch, Daniel Bryan. The more powerful the heel group, the better the final result for the triumphant face.

This can require some significant leaps of faith, however. At the height of the Attitude Era, the biggest angle going was CEO Vince McMahon’s feud with the rebellious Stone Cold Steve Austin. No matter how much he tried, McMahon could never topple the Rattlesnake, who was a thorn in his side and perennially in the world title picture.

If you hate him that much, Vince, just fire him! There are so many examples of sackable offenses - he drove a beer truck into the arena, he attacked his boss in hospital, the list goes on.

This was one of the greatest feuds in wrestling, but Vince’s character inconsistencies were never quite ironed out. Still, with an angle this good, there’s not much point in questioning it.
