‘93’s Halloween Havoc is a pretty solid affair that gets the mix of horror and actual wrestling right. There are more spooky goods left to come, but for the wrestling purists, here are two Brits ready to put on a clinic with their mix of Euro-technique and naturalised American showmanship.

Davey Boy Smith was coming off the year of his life in WWE and still carries a lot of that swagger - he looks iconic with his dreadlocks and swollen physique. Steven Regal, meanwhile, holds the Television Championship and is clearly having the time of his life playing the pompous snob to Smith’s working class hero.

Regal’s comedic skills are on show as he sneers and winces his way through the match, at loathe to be in Smith’s very presence. Aside from this, he shows off his array of stretches and holds - it’s a scientific encounter on his part, but he moves so smoothly and quickly that it’s never boring.

Smith, meanwhile, chooses his moments to pounce with his always impressive blend of speed and power. He’s a great face when he wants to be, and with an opponent of this calibre, he looks the part. The match goes to a tense draw, with Smith just falling short as he’d tend to do in WCW, but it’s an injection of class.
