10 Greatest WWE Character Vignettes Ever
7. Goldust: In The Hollywood Hills
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwCbfjK0MJMAnyone who tells you that Stone Cold Steve Austin started the Attitude Era is flat-out ignoring the legacy of Goldust. He's the guy who brought an edge to WWE for the first time in years. Austin took a solid 18 months to turn into a real, marketable thing, but Goldust sprang fully formed onto Raw like Athena from the head of Zeus.
Here, he reveals that he's coming for the Undertaker for reasons that aren't exactly clear. Something about his golden light causing the darkness to dissipate, yes, but that raises a lot more questions than it answers. Think about it: he's a sexually ambiguous weirdo obsessed with classic Hollywood and the color gold, and he also happens to be a brutal, 6'6" brawler. He's a goddamn Criminal Minds villain, and anyone in 1996 who said they don't want to see what this guy was going to do the Undertaker was clearly lying.
