10 Greatest WWE Intercontinental Champions Of All Time
5. Mr Perfect
One of the biggest crimes in all of WWE history (on-screen, that is) is the fact that Mr Perfect went through his career without a world championship to his name. Perfect was a man who was decades ahead of his time; he would still light up a ring today if we could Marty McFly a prime Curt Hennig into 2020 WWE.
In the '80s, Hennig carried a hefty load wherever he went when it came to putting on stellar matches on a weekly basis. Before the likes of Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart truly arrived in title contention, Mr Perfect was the yardstick for both technical work and storytelling genius inside the ring.
Entering 1990, Hennig had been putting on clinics for close to two years following his return to WWF and was rewarded with two typically excellent IC runs. Perfect was on the downswing during his second reign, and debilitating back injuries saw him pass the torch to another sublime technician in Bret Hart with a performance that no human with a broken back should be able to manage.
